Someone thought well of Pres. Herbert Hoover; Newberg named a park after him. Herbert Hoover Park is a disc golf course. Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is the location for his Presidential library and museum with exhibits, research materials, and Web-based information on the life of Herbert Hoover. After the death of his parents Herbert's relatives sent him to Newberg, Oregon to live with his mother's brother. The Hoover-Minthorn House was built in the latter part of the nineteenth century and is the first residence built and still standing in Newberg, Oregon. The house was the home of Herbert Hoover for four years. George Fox University ranked by Forbes as the top Christian college in America is located in Newberg and offers programs leading to Bachelor's, and Master's degrees as well as Doctorates in several subjects |
