Located in Downtown Pittsburgh, the Allegheny County Courthouse is a National Landmark built in 1888 by architect Henry Hobson Richardson. The grand old building hosts 20,000 criminal cases annually.

Prosecutors
Stephen A. Zappala, Jr. has been the District Attorney since 1998. The D.A.s Office employs around 100 attorneys who manage the criminal cases in Allegheny County. In the State of PA, there is also a division made up of district justices and magistrates, and this minor judiciary is the first step in criminal prosecution.
