About the area

Allegheny, Altoona, Canoe Creek, Catharine, Hollidaysburg (county seat), and Frankstown are just some of the pieces forming the big puzzle of Blair County, named after John Blair; who was a very respectable and admired resident of these territories. Back in the 1840s, Pennsylvania State became a silent and passive witness of the creation of a new community combing portions of Bedford and Huntingdon Counties. This "son" of the Altoona metropolitan area is home of more than 129000 residents and presents four major geographic treasures: Logan Valley, Morrison Cove, Tussey Mountain, and Brush Mountain.
