This municipality was known as "Wright's Ferry" in the hands of John Wright who established a very strong community respecting and admiring the Native American traditions of the former settlers of this land. The foundation of Columbia took place during the second quarter of the 18th century, today this territory is the home of the National Watch and Clock Museum and the Wright's Ferry Mansion.
