I-95 and I-195 run through the city, but traffic cases tend to be handled in the district courts or municipal courts, not in Providence County Court (aka Providence Superior Court).

About the area

Providence is considered by many to be a truly superior place, but that's not why it has a Superior Court. The perception of excellence comes from a fine university, strong commercial sector (dating back hundreds of years, even including the slave trade), and beautiful scenery. The city architecture is something to talk about and invites a lot of artists from the world. Providence is home to the famous Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) which is one of the top colleges for Art in America. They got a sweet mall there with an IMAX screen, and some outstanding restaurants. Some Ivy League school here, named after a color ... yeah, Brown! Great historical buildings too.
