Woonsocket is very famous for its mill villages because Woonsocket formed from six mill villages. A visit to Woonsocket will actually take you back in time with its trams canal boats, trains and wagons. People do tend to get a little nostalgic by seeing and experiencing this old world charm. There are places like Cato Hill, privilege mill district and South Main Street which still look like how it was in 1930s and this is where the upper-class of Rhode Island lived in those days. The mansions and the main street are worth a visit. Route 146 and I-295 I-495 to I-95 pass from Woonsocket.
