Lexington is a huge historical city. It was one of the original cities among the 11 cities established by King George II. The city does enjoy a lot of snob value from the local residents. The US highway 378 which passes through the city was actually a Cherokee trail. The Courthouse was a part of Saxe Gotha, named after the birth place of daughter in law of King George II.
