| About the area |
Lake City was mainly a miner’s town. There were several coal mines in the city and that brought in several settles from far and beyond in the country. However the local miners and a lot of trouble with the State Militia and there was a lock out of mines. This incident is very popular in the United States and Lake City was called Coal creek. Today the only remains of the place are the Coal Creek River which has been flowing from times unknown. However now it is a modern city for living and also visiting. |
