There are many historic places to visit in Elizabethton. The Doe River Cover Bridge was built in 1882 and one of the oldest ones to be still around. It is a nice place and right adjacent to it is the John and Landen Carter Mansion. It was built in the mid Seventeenth century and still its detailed interior decoration.
