About the area

The James K. Polk ancestral home is very much a part of Columbia’s historic landmarks. He began his political career from this house. So Tennessee proudly calls him the son of TN. The furnishings inside use some relics from the time when he was in the White House. Many things like Mrs.Polks Ball gown and Jewelry and memorabilia from the Mexican war are a part of the exhibits here.
