About the area

Incorporated in the 1930s, this city was named after a soldier who fought during the Texas Revolution; Richard Andrews. The American, German, and Irish influences are not as strong as it seems to be in the surrounding communities, but this territory of more than 4.5 square miles of extension is full of wonderful recreational areas and well educated inhabitants. Served by the United States Highway 385 and the Texas State Highway 115, this land witnessed the arrival of the Deep Rock Oil Company in the 1920s; which has been the economic support of this land "built on oil and soil".
