Almost 7.5 square miles of extension constitute the land of Bastrop which is nested almost 100 miles away from San Antonio and just a few minutes away from Camp Swift, Circle D-KC Estates, and Wyldwood. This community reports German, English, Irish, and American ancestries as part of its culture, traditions, and beliefs in a land where 6/10 of the population is White Non Hispanic, close to 2/10 is Hispanic, and the rest is a racial makeup of African American, Asian Indian, Native American, and other racial groups. Home of the Sim Gideon Power Plant, this municipality has experienced a very admirable financial growth during this decade due the hard work of the Bastrop Economic Development Corporation.
