About the area |
This puzzle piece of the western portion of the Republic of Texas was named after San Antonio de Béxar which was known in the past as the "Villa of San Fernando de Béxar". It is today a rich sample of tolerance and organization, where approximately 7/10 of the population is White Non Hispanic, less than 1/10 is African American, 1/2 is Hispanic, and the remaining percentage is represented by Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, and other racial groups. This territory is very well served by the VIA Metropolitan Transit and it is home of the Alamo, where brave Texan residents fought the Mexican Army in the 1830s. |
