The county seat of Dickens County is know as the "Wild Boar Capital" with an estimated of 350 residents and it was named after J. Dickens, who died at the Alamo. The finances of this municipality are truly a challenge for the local authorities, they need to work hard to improve the numbers of the median household and per capita incomes which are very much under the national averages. Homeland of the Dickens County Springs Park and the Dickens County Museum, this community could have a very brilliant and successful future if all of its people served by the Spur and Patton Springs Independent School Districts fight with courage and love to create more employment, attract investments, and promote their local treasures. |
