Ovilla is the oldest town in Ellis County established back in the 1840s thanks to the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Neighboring with Oak Leaf, Glenn Heights, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Red Oak, Midlothian, Duncanville, and Pecan Hill; this municipality has a total extension of close to 6 square miles elevated 610 feet above sea level with a very regular topography. This community which is full of enthusiasm and positive energy has an estimated population of 4000 inhabitants being one of the suburbs in the metroplex area bringing 1130 households and 1000 families residing in this city.
