Refreshed by the pure and clear waters of several creeks and lakes, this land has been blessed with hardworking and polite residents who will welcome you with open arms. Gray County is served by Pampa City as its county seat and it was named after Peter Gray, who served his country during the American Civil War. The operations center of the White Deer Lands Management Company and home of the McClellan Creek National Grassland, was established in the 1870s and it is well served by the Interstate 40, US Highway 60, State Highway 152, and State Highway 273.
