About the area

Framed by Jefferson (OK), Love (OK), Cooke, Wise, Jack, and Clay Counties; this community home of the Lyndon B Johnson National Grassland is divided in fourteen cities including Illinois Bend, Ringgold, Stoneburg, and Sunset. Named for Daniel Montague, this land of less than 940 square miles of extension has an estimated of 19500 inhabitants; all served by Montague City as their government center. Nine independent school districts are responsible for the education and formation of the future professionals in Montague including Alvord, Bowie, Gold-Burg, and Prairie Valley.
