Town with about 1500 people right off of Highway 59. Not much to do because the majority of locals tend to drive to Kingwood or Houston for entertainment. If you don't want to drive to the city you can cast a line for a while at The Peach Creek Lake which is much closer or enjoy a nice walk at the HL Patton Park.
Is this place named for General George S. Patton? Maybe, and maybe not. I knew a girl named Patton once, and I think she was from Texas. She grew up now. Patton is abundant in forests, parks, golf and groves. We have it authoritative now. It is not named after General Patton. it is named after H.L. Patton who founded it. He only had a son who died before his dad. Hence the naming of HL Patton Park. Thanks to the Court staff for the info. |
