This dry county in the Tyler-Jacksonville combine area was established in the 1840s struggles nowadays with its very bad infrastructure and lack of employment. Connected by Interstate 20, US Highway 80, State Highway 31, State Highway 110, and other six major highways; this community with a population density under 210 people per square mile is framed by Wood, Gregg, Upshur, Rusk, Cherokee, Henderson, and Van Zandt Counties. Divided in eleven cities and multiple unincorporated communities, this corner of America was a very strong supporter of the Republican party in the 2008 presidential elections.
