This kind community nested between Hood, Johnson, Bosque, and Erath Counties was founded in the 1870s and its name comes from Alexander Somervell, former Secretary of War for Texas. Served by Glen Rose as its county seat, this community of more than 6800 inhabitants is the homeland of the Comanche Peak Nuclear Generation Station. Having a median household income of more than $39000 and a per capita income of approximately $27000, this corner of America is attended only by the Glen Rose Independent School District.
