Fifteen families were the early settlers, in the Spring of 1859, in what was then called Spring Creek. There are nine parks in this town; one of which, Von Baer park, has a disc golf course. Another, Zollinger park is equipped with pavilions, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball, barbecue grills, playgrounds, tennis courts, half basketball courts and baseball fields. The annual Oktoberkraut festival features a car show. Celebrate Providence day is held in early June. |
