About the area |
There are statuary located throughout the town depicting the history and service to the town. The sculpture of a miner with a headlamp and holding a pick in this two hands over his shoulder, sculpted from coal byproducts, is a memorial to the coal miners of the area. It is located in the lobby of the Carbon County Courthouse in Price. The Coal Miners Rest Stop statue, depicting a coal miner and a child, is located at a small rest stop in town. The Kokopelli statue, a fertility deity worshipped by many Native American tribes in the Southwestern United States, is located at main Street and 100 East. The Price Municipal Building a WPA project built during the Great Depression has a large mural inside the main foyer four feet high and it completely surrounds the foyer for a length of about 200 feet. The municipally owned Dino-Mine Adventure park has dinosaurs, volcano, swings, climbing walls, slides, forts and bridges.
