About the area |
In the fall of 1942 the U.S. Government awarded a contract to the W.E. Ryberg-Strong-Grant Corporation of Springville, Utah to develop the town. In succession it was named Drager and then Dragerton until the Summer of 1973 when Dragerton and Columbia incorporated to form East Carbon City. It is basically a coal mining community. If hot rods are your thing you might just want to visit Bo Huff's Custom and Hot Rod museum. The East Carbon City museum has a ton of materials, displays and videos such as yearbooks, class pictures, trophies, uniforms, jackets and mining memorabilia including hats and buckets. |
