About the area |
Around 1887 a settler was sent from Sanpete county to look over the land where Wellington now sits. approximately 2 years later group of men accompanied him to the area but they returned home and did not come back until the following year. However they did not stay and it was until 2 years later that three families came to the area and built there log cabin homes. The annual Wellington Pioneer Days celebration is held in the latter part of July. The festivities include Friday evening dinner in the park and Saturday morning breakfast also held in the park. There is a grand parade, food, entertainment and vendor booths in the park. |
