Duchesne is located where the Strawberry and Duchesne rivers meet. The Duchesne County Veterans memorial in Duchesne is an awe inspiring site. It features three sculptures; a bald eagle perched atop a bell, a bronze soldier standing over a fallen buddy's empty boots and an officer in the WAVES, the all-women's division of the U.S. Navy. Also at the site are a number of black granite walls on which are inscribed the names of Duchesne County veterans dating back to the American Civil War. The city has a municipa swimmin pool located in Lester A. Wallace park. The Lake Canyon Wildlife Management and Sowers Canyon Wildlife Management areas are near the town.
