Hon. F. Kirk Heaton. The county justice court holds hearings for violations occurring throughout Kane county and in the city of Kanab with the exception of those violations taking place within the city limits of Big Water and Orderville. |
| About the area |
The settlement around 1864 was centered around the erection of Fort Kanab on the East bank of Kanab creek to defend against Indian attacks. However the attacks forced the settlers to leave the fort two years later. After an interval of four years a group of settlers moved back to the fort thereby establishing the present town. Today the city is a place that reminds tourists of the old West. The Gunsmoke movie set in Johnson Canyon as well as other old western movie sets where you can dress up and take part in a western experience led to the creation of Little Hollywood Land. |
