About the area

Prior to around 1868 the town consisted of two separate settlements, North Morgan and South Morgan, which combined to form the single community. North Morgan was settled about seven years before under the name Mount Joy and South Morgan about the same time. After this the transcontinental railroad was constructed with its main route alongside the city providing jobs to area residents and bringing in the necessities and comforts of life and opening up markets for the goods produced locally. Riverside park is a nice place to relax. The park has a playground, pavilion and bowery.
