About the area |
An immigrant from England who first lived in the Taylorsville settlement moved with other settlers to what was then known as the Butterfield settlement around 1853. The community was later named Fort Herriman and later Herriman. There is an historical monument and marker in the Northern part of town at the site of Fort Herriman. Heritage park commemorates the pioneers who settled Herriman and includes a statue of the first settlers and soldier. The town maintains community gardens where residents may establish garden plots. |
