Three major roads meet in South Salt lake; IS 80 with IS 15 and US 89. In addition SR 71 runs along the Eastern edge of town, SR 201 runs along the Northern edge of town and SR 171 runs through town to connect with IS 15 and US 89. |

About the area |
South Salt Lake was created by a resolution of Salt Lake County in the Fall of 1938. Of all things the town was created because of the need of a sewer system by Salt Lake City. The sewer system was built by the Works Project Administration but only begin after incorporation of the town which was accomplished by a close vote around 1939. The Columbus center in town is equipped with classrooms, an auditorium and a gym. |
