If you are looking for the San Juan county district court, you will find it in this court which is in the Seventh Judicial district of Utah.
About the area
Canyons and erosional forms in the colorful sedimentary rock of this county were formed by the Colorado and San Juan rivers and a bunch of smaller streams. Prior to 1300 this area was inhabited by Ancestral Pueblo Indians. They lived in pithouse structures then rock structures on the ground and high up in the cliffs. This group left a legacy in their cliff houses, pictographs and petroglyphs which provide amazing sights for visitors to the area. Pioneers who came from Escalante in the Spring of 1880, after traveling for a long period on rough migrant trails, named the county for the San Juan river. The county economy for a long time was dependent on mining which had its ups and downs. Mining began with the gold rush on the San Juan River in the early 1890's which soon petered out but continued with the discovery of oil and gas at the beginning of the 20th century. In the early 1950's there was a uranium boom. However the county's economy seems to be heading towards tourism.
