About the area
In addition to the many items of historical data, artifacts pictures and artwork, representative of the town's founding around 1859, in the Fairview Museum of History and Art there is a full scale replica of a nearly fully intact Columbian mammoth, located in the Natural History building, which was found on the nearby Wasatch Plateau around 1988. Around the turn of the century from the 1800's Fairview was the center of a wealthy district in which could be found four general stores, one furniture store, one harness shop, two hotels, one butcher shop, a plaining mill and half a dozen steam sawmills in addition to many substancial homes. Fairview is the gateway to Skyline Drive, a 75-mile scenic mountain road into Fairview Canyon that has miles of trails along which you can ride ATV's, borseback and mountain bikes, fish, hunt, camp, snowkite and snowmobile.
Judges
