About the area |
In the fall of 1863 three men from Manti were seeking a location for a new settlement South of their town. Their discovery of a a broad valley with a creek and river and fertile land about 30 miles of Manti encouraged approximately 30 families to travel to the location one year later. The area was surveyed, houses built in the city that was laid out and named Salina for the nearby salt deposits. Today the town boasts Blackhawk arena which plays host to regional equestrian events, concerts and town activities. The site also has an outdoor covered area and area for RV hookups. The North Sevier Community center in North Salina serves this city and residents of the nearby areas. The city also maintains an outdoor swimming pool. |
