SR 36 is the Main street of Stockton. Be careful here; this town is hot on catching speeders.
About the area
In the 1860's mineral finds near Stockton in Rush Valley, at East Canyon in the Oquirrh Mountains, brought miners and prospectors to the area especially after the completion of the railroad towards the end of the decade. The town takes its name from the city in California of the same name. The founding of the town is celebrated annually at Stockton Days in August. The town's population is slightly over 600. The biggest news around here lately was the demolition of the town's old water tank and the construction of a new one. There are a few parks here including Alex Baker Memorial baseball park. Rush lake is a favorite fishing spot for residents of this town.
Hours of Operation Court is open only, by appointment, on Fridays.
