Settlers first came to the Shoal Creek region, near Enterprise, to graze cattle from the Cotton Mission
in St. George in the Spring of 1896. At the beginning the cattle ranchers did quite well however this resulted in a limited economy for the area. The settlers wanted to expand into agriculture and to sustain this they built a dam, despite the skeptics to its success, to supply a reliable water source. The town soon developed because of this water source. Enterprise now has three parks but is in the process of raising funds to built an Enterprise City park. The fund raising is supported by the annual Enterprise Cornfest held in August at the Enterprise Elementary school. This event features a Softball tournament, Volleyball tournament, Car show, live entertainment, a Dutch Oven dinner and dancing in the park.
