Washington County Justice Court

This court holds hearings for violations occurring throughout Washing county a and for those occurring within the city limits of St. George. It does not hold hearings for those violations occurring the city limits of Enterprise, Hildale, Hurricane, Santa Clara or Washington City.

The Daughters of Utah Pioneers maintain and support the McQuarrie Memorial museum in St. George. This facility houses more than 2000 pioneer histories, more than 500 pioneer photographs and over 1500 artifacts. Each month the museum highlights one of its artifacts accompanied by a news article. A couple of the interesting and historic buildings to visit in town are the Brigham Young Winter home and the Jacob Hamblin home with its nearby fruit orchard. You could visit the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm which has well preserved dinosaur tracks, fossil fish and plants, rare dinosaur remains, invertebrates traces and important sedimentary structures. The site is believed to be one of the ten best dinosaur track sites in the world. In addition the museum has added several accurate dinosaur reproductions. Just for kids; although they bring along their parents is the The St. George Children’s Museum which provides interactive activities that invite children and families to discover and create. All through the museum there are objects and replicas of structures found in the places around us which the children are encourged to use and play at.
