About the area

Those who are interested in America's space program should visit NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. There are exhibits here related to projects which were conducted at Wallops Flight Facility and to the present projects such as the Sounding Rockets Program, Scientific Balloon Projects and Orbital Tracking Station. The kids will really be excited about the hands on exhibits such as the Magic Planet, Air Rockets and the Radar Altimeter. If you've visited a model train layout, you will be surprised at the appearance of Parksley’s quaint town square. It seems to be a model train village come to life with its Victorian homes and restored train station. The museum has loads of railroad memorabilia from the many trains that came to this peninsula since the mid-1800s. The 1927 parlor/lounge Diplomat car, a 1949 caboose and a 1950 sleeper car are available for guided tours.
