About the area

Appomattox County in Virginia has about 14,000 residents. US Rt 460 and Routes 24 and 26 serve the county. A Historical Museum and the Courthouse National Historic Park are amongst attractions in the County. Just east of Lynchburg, and a landmark in Civil War history. Gen. Robert E. Lee surrendered to Grant here after a short battle.
