About the area |
The Frontier Culture museum consists of four working farms. They are inhabited by interpreters dressed in period costumes who carry out the daily chores representing the life that existed here for German, Scotch-Irish, English and American settlers during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The structures in this complex have either been moved here or reconstructed to represent the buildings in the areas from which the settlers came. They represent such abodes as a 1700 slaves quarters, 1700's Germany and 1820's American farm. Yo can enjoy the German music, lederhosen, dancing, German food and beer at the annual Oktoberfest held in October at the German farm in this complex. |
