Fincastle Magistrate serves as the magistrate court of Botetourt county in the Twenty-Fifth judicial district of Virginia.

About the area

By 1772, Fincastle had been incorporated. A walk though this town will give the visitor the opportunity to see the many architectural styles dating from the 1770's and on. The craftsmen in town, early smiths, wagon makers, and saddlers usually lived in houses of built of logs whereas the commercial establishments and houses of the more wealthy were built of brick. The Old Jail, circa 1897, James Matten Early cabin, and the Saddler’s Shop have been restored and anew blacksmith's shop replaced the old one.
