Meadow Event Park where thoroughbreds once raced has been transformed into a vast complex where the State Fair of Virginia is held. The complex consists of The Exhibition Hall over 60,000 square feet in size, the large Meadow Pavilion over 6,800 square feet in size, Meadow Hall, Bold Ruler House, the Southern States Legends Stable and four equine show rings. The Caroline museum and Cultural center
has displays of WWI memorabilia, town archives and photos of days gone by in Bowling Green. All that remains of the Garrett House, where John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of Abraham Lincoln, is a lonely marker on U.S. Route 301.
