This territory was a part of the Henrico County and became a part of Albemarle County after Henrico splitted in the 1720's. Palmyra is the county seat and the home of the Justice for this community. This county is another "donator" of the Commonwealth of the State. The towns of Columbia, Scottsville, Lake Monticello and Palmyra make up the geography of Fluvanna County.
