Called the Gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains, Galax is most famous for the Old Fiddlers Convention, held in August of every year, and has the oldest music convention of its kind in the world. Musicians, young and old, converge on this town every year to compete for prizes and bragging rights. So if you want something fun to do, or just looking to fiddle around a while, come to Galax and enjoy yourself! Otherwise, Galax is a pocket of people in the middle of not a whole lot. |
