It is not however frequently staffed and when a hearing is need with no personnel present; hearings may be held at the Montgomery location in Christiansburg or the Pulaski office in Dublin which are fully staffed.
About the area
The historic 1908 courthouse now houses the Grayson Crossroads museum. The first settlers in the area came through on the Great Wagon Road and some stopped here on their way West. Some stayed but eked out a very hard existence and much of the land remained vacant for a long time. It is to these settlers that the museum is dedicated with displays covering the the history of the region and specifically Grayson County. The Vault area of the museum has on display many of the household items you would have found in a homestead in the region. In addition on display old photos of communities, people, industries and schools in Grayson County. The courtroom is now the Baldwin Auditorium named for the man who bought the 1908 Courthouse to preserve it. Concerts, plays, meetings, parties, receptions and civic events are held in this setting which seats just over 200 people. It is also the place where the Historic 1908 Courthouse sponsored Old-time Mountain Music Jam is held every Wednesday night when the weather is cold or threatening. When the weather is good this weekly event is held out back in the band stand.
