This is the now infamous court where the Virginia Tech shooter had been ordered to undergo
mental health treatment. There was no follow through on the treatment, and the rest is history. Far
from clear that the treatment would have made a difference, but it probably would have. Media
reports the special justice who ordered treatment as Paul Barnett, but a CNN copy of the order
shows Judge Elinor Williams signing at least one page of the order. There are two divisions of the court, one for Christiansburg and another for Blacksburg. Blacksburg General District Court is at 300 S. Main Street, zip is 24060. |

8:30 to 4:30 office hours; Christiansburg sessions daily or even twice daily; Blacksburg on Wednesday and Thursday mornings |
Judges |
Chief Judge is Gino Williams, with four others. |
Prosecutors |
Joey Showalter swings for the fences. |
Type Of Cases |
Misdemeanors, the beginnings of felonies, and - this time it is not funny - crazy college kids. And of course, speeding tickets on I-81. |
