Nottoway Magistrate

Nottoway County's public lakes, Nottoway lake, Crystal lake and Fort Pickett reservoir, can be used for boating, fishing, swimming and picnicking. Recreational facilities available throughout the county include illuminated sports fields in Blackstone, Beamer Field and Hackney Field in Crewe, Burkeville Recreational park, the Memorial Center in Blackstone, the Burkeville Municipal Building, the Crewe Community Center, and the Virginia United Methodist Assembly Center in Blackstone. The The Crewe railroad Museum was created as a memorial to the many residents of Crewe and the areas around who were employed by the Norfolk & Western railroad. The building constructed to look like the original Crewe Passenger station displays artifacts, photos and memorabilia of the railroad. On the grounds of the museum you can see a Steam locomotive, Diesel locomotive, several freight cars, a caboose, and a passenger coach that was used on the Norfolk & Western Powhatan Arrow passenger trains.
