Matters for Fluvanna, Greene and Madison counties are handled in this court usually by video hookup with the sheriff's office in those counties unless an in person hearing is requested to be held in this court.
About the area
Settlers came to and formed Orange county around 1734 naming it after William IV, the Prince of Orange. It is also the county in which President Zachary Taylor was born. Barboursville Ruins are what remains of the home, designed by Thomas Jefferson, after fire destroyed it around 1884. The site still finds use as the place where the Four County Players present "Shakespeare at the Ruins" on August weekends. There are four public parks in Orange; Taylor, Belleview Avenue, Hazel Sedwick and Veteran's which has a large pavilion.
