About the area

Although created by The Virginia General Assembly in the 1770's, Powhatan's final boundaries were established around 1850 with the annexation of a part of Chesterfield county. The county has close to 30 parks and fields encompassing illuminated baseball, softball, football and soccer fields; playgrounds; pavillions; walking trails; a disc golf course and a sports building with a gymnasium and Kitchen,dining and classroom space. The annual Powhatan County fair in May is a douzy with shows, concerts, rides, cow milking, petting zoo and Motor Sports weekend.
