About the area |
The history of this county before its foundation could be separated in two major chapters. The first chapter took place back in the 1600's when the Native Americans were the masters of the land and the defenders for the Blue Ridge Mountains beauty. The second chapter was written on the second quarter of the 1700's, when the settlers of surrounding communities decided to readdress their homes to Rappahannock County. Shenandoah National Park glides to the southwest from here, offering gorgeous hikes and other recreational opportunities for residents and touristic speeders alike. |
