The displays of beautiful flowers and plants are keyed to the season and the birds put on their own special show here. You can lift your spirits still further by visiting the family owned White Oak Lavender Farm where you can see and buy many varieties of Lavender. Before you rush off to a show or dinner at one of the city's fine downtown restaurants; pay a visit to the Harrisonburg Fire Department museum, in the Public Safety Building, where you will see old memorabilia such as uniforms, medals, old alarms, photographs and equipment and provides a behind the scenes look at some of the city's bravest individuals.
