About the area

The people in Gate City have found a way to have outstanding food and be entertained as a group as well by holding the annual Grillin' at the Gate festival in September. The festival offers live music rock to bluegrass and plenty of barbecue, other foods from vendors and a beer garden selling brews from around the region. there is also a photo contest and pet parade and show. The city maintains a public park with little league baseball facilities.
